The adapter is available in different configurations depending on engine mounting position and ZF 8HP bellhousing type, ensuring correct alignment and fitment.

Engine Compatibility & Mounting Position

  • Volvo B230/B20 – 20° engine tilt (factory Redblock B230 mounting position)
  • Volvo B20/B230 – 0° engine tilt (factory Redblock B20 mounting position)

The correct mounting angle is essential for proper drivetrain alignment, gearbox positioning, and long-term reliability.

ZF 8HP Bellhousing Compatibility

This adapter kit is designed around the BMW ZF 8HP transmission family. Different 8HP gearboxes use different bellhousing patterns depending on engine type.

Important: If your transmission uses the N57 bellhousing, you must select the 8HP70 (N57) option, as it shares the same bellhousing design with the following gearboxes:

  • 8HP45 – N47
  • 8HP50 – B37, B48, B58
  • 8HP51 – B58
  • 8HP70 – N57
  • 8HP75 – B57
  • 8HP76 – B57 / S58

If your gearbox is listed above, the 8HP70 (N57) adapter option provides the correct bellhousing compatibility.

All in all this was a nice kit. No instructions included but its pretty self explanatory.

A few bummers that were easy to fix.

Biggest one being that the dowel pins in the b230 are larger than the dowel holes in the adapter plate.

The only other issue was that the starter bolts supplied only had about 5mm of thread engagement. I just grabbed some bolts that were 10mm longer.

I think a simple visual diagram of what bolts go where would be nice since it's a little trial and error.
